Hi, my name is Joy Millam and I am a busy Teacher Librarian in Southern California. This is my 28th year as an educator (15 in the classroom primarily teaching English to freshmen, a little Social Science, and journalism)
I'm still wildly happy to do what I do! My husband always jokes that he doesn't know anyone who has so many good days at work as I do-- I say he needs to get out and make more friends with librarians.
I'm an incurable optimist, a mom to three girls (all grown), and anxiously wishing for grandchildren. I love reading, technology, games, crafting, games, sports, nature, and the ocean.
This blog will be a good resource for tech tools, programming ideas, and a book reviews. The book reviews may have to wait until I've finished work on the Edwards Committee. I may be able to squeeze in a review on a new book, we'll see what happens. Time is always an issue.
Blogging for me is like a one sided conversation-- my tone is quite informal. I hope it feels like we've just been at a conference or workshop and are having a chat.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you'll drop me a note and let me know if you have questions or if you see something that needs a correction. It takes a village to get things right sometimes.
You can find me on Twitter, Facebook, and good old email.
